Louise’s Hints April – June 2010

  • Don’t soak an iron pan after using it. Rinse it fast and and dry, then oil it to maintain the new finish.
  • To save money on power, bake two things at a time, save one and freeze it.
  • To flatten a cake, put a small plate on it right after you take it out of the oven.

For Lint-use scotch tape or masking tape on your hand to rub off.

For Silver-place it in a plastic bag.

For Leather-shine with a banana, wipe off with clean cloth.

For Jewelry allergies-coat with clear nail polish where it touches skin.

Louise’s Hints Oct – Dec 2009

With flu season upon us we should all drink a great deal of liquid. Elderly especially should drink loads of liquids with electrolytes.  We should not allow ourselves to become dehydrated because it leaves your health at risk.  Don’t let the flu take over!

Louises Hints July – Sept. 2009

Use Bounce dryer sheets to wipe off glass to repel dust.  Carry a Bounce sheet when outside to ward off mosquitoes.  Rubbing alcohol makes a good cleaner in the bathroom for tile, fixtures and mirrors.

Put cold bottles of water or soda in a clean white sock to tote along.  This absorbs condensation from the bottle.
